New Resolutions

Where to start?

Start small until you have more stamina and confidence. Even if you have to press pause during the workout for a short rest - you will still feel a sense of achievement when you've done it.

Start in private until you are confident with basic exercise moves and light weights.

Once you are in a rhythm and can manage a short exercise session, then you are ready for a few sessions with a personal trainer.

When you are ready to start, search on YouTube for workout videos, there are a number of really good exercise instructors who have posted workouts that don't require weights or equipment and are easy to complete the first time you do them. You don't need to do situps or pushups - there is a variety of workouts that you can build on as your confidence grows.

We've all heard of diet buzzwords, Keto, Low Carb and many more. For most people, moderation is the main driver. Unless you have been diagnosed with a food allergy or intolerance or avoid certain foods for religious reasons, you should aim to eat things from all the food groups. A diet that is too low in fat or too high in fat is not ideal and is quite difficult to maintain in the long term.

Aim to include a treat once in a while. It helps curb intense craving, if you know you are allowed to have it soon. If you have a total blow-out, just start your plan the next day and don't beat yourself up.
